How can I get phonetic symbols in SWP5.5?

Adding phonetic symbols would

Adding phonetic symbols would mean adding a new font.  The TrueTeX Previewer uses TrueType fonts, and there don't appear to be any phonetic symbol fonts available in TrueType.  If you compile for PDF, then Type 1 fonts could be used.  From what I can tell, the only package that adds phonetic symbols that includes a Type 1 font is tipa.  You would have to add the tipa package and install the Type 1 font.  The steps to install the yhmath package at http://forum.mackichan.com/node/64#comment-41 could be used as a template to install the fonts.  You would not see the phonetic characters when editing in SW, only TeX fields for the macros used to add the characters to the document.
