How to make a table smaller

marvin2jh's picture

I have a table which is too big. And I would like to make it smaller to fit in a page.
Please let me know how to do it! Thank you very much!

Panel B reports average annual job flows in publicly traded firms and privately held firms. Panel C and Panel D respectively report average annual job flows in quintiles of sales and jobs. In each panel, the p-values of the signed rank tests which compare the job flows of the two matched subgroups (\textsl{chaebol}-affiliated firms versus non affiliated firms, publicly traded firms versus privately held firms, and quintile 1 versus quintile 5).} \\

You can insert an

You can insert an encapsulated TeX field before the tabular, use encapsulated TeX fields to avoid surprise tagging the next time you open your document, and add a LaTeX font sizing commands.   The complete set of
LaTeX font sizing commands, from smallest to largest, is:

\tiny
\scriptsize
\footnotesize
\small
\normalsize
\large
\Large
\LARGE
\huge
\Huge

Return to the default font size by adding an encapsulated TeX field containing \normalsize after the tabular.

If you are using the Table - (4x3, floating) fragment to add a floating table, then you can place the font sizing command at the end of the contents of the [B] encapsulated TeX field.  Only one sizing command is needed in this case as the font command will be restricted to the table environment.
